Abstrakt

The review summarizes current evidence about COVID-19 in relation to women of childbearing age, especially in pregnancy. SARS-CoV-2 potentially endangers not only the mother but also the unborn fetus. We perform a critical analysis of information on vertical and horizontal transmission, we deal with the management of care and treatment of pregnant women and lactation. We report separately on current knowledge about vaccination in relation to pregnancy, the puerperium and breastfeeding. We are aware that this summary is valid at the time of publication and it is possible that the rapid growth of new information may make some claims irrelevant.
