Weighting of pregnant women during each prenatal visit is a routine process, with is even supported by recommendations of local professional Gynecologic and Obstetric Society. We have analyzed the published data and tried to answer the question, whether this practice is still justified. According to the available data, we conclude that there is no supporting evidence to weigh pregnant women during regular checkups in pregnancy.
